The Calumet Players Present

The Calumet Players wrap up their 23rd season with a local production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, running June 15th through June 25th on the Pipestone Performing Arts Center stage.

This local production of Cinderella by the Calumet Players is based on the original classic musical, which retains its timelessness in a tale where dreams really do come true. It includes R&H's most beloved songs, "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible/It's Possible," "Ten Minutes Ago," and "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?"

Cinderella will be directed by Dan Sutton (Flandreau) and Musically Directed by Katrina Hart (Pipestone) with the creative team of Artitic Director/Co-Producer Tammy Grubbs (Pipestone), Co-Producer Sylvia Newell (Lake Benton), Choreographer Ashley de Gruchy (Pipestone) and Production Stage Manager Kimberly Fleet (Lake Benton).

Cinderella and Prince Christopher are played by Samantha Fleet (Lake Benton) and Nathan Sparks (Luverne). Also featured are Bronwyn Jones (Pipestone) as the Fairy God Mother, Jess Robinson (Pipestone) as the Step Mother, Wendy Mohlenkamp (Edgerton) as Step Sister Grace and Diana Brecher (Pipestone) as Step Sister Joy.

Cinderella began as a teleplay in 1957 for CBS with Julie Andrews, then two subsequent teleplays including one in 1965 with Lesley Ann Warren, and the other in 1997 with Brandy, Whitney Houston, and Whoopi Goldberg.

As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.

This local production will be performed on the Pipestone Performing Arts Center stage on the evenings of June 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday matinees on June 18 and 25 at 2:00 pm. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $7 for students. Seating Reservations can be made by calling the Pipestone County Museum Box Office at 507-825-2020, Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.
